Horsethief Butte

April 10, 2007
Horsethief Butte is a fascinating area to explore, to enjoy vistas, to find wildflowers.  In the morning we drove through rain, finally leaving it behind, marked with a beautiful rainbow.  We had no rain during the hike, but we did have a cool wind that kept us bundled up for most of the morning.

This outing was different from many of our Tryon Creek Daytrippers hikes because the trails didn't always take us where we wanted to go.  Fortunately we had a good leader, Sabine Dutoit, who is familiar with every corner of this area.  It was fun to explore with her in the lead.  Thanks, Sabine.
