A beautiful day, especially when one could stay in the shade. Dick
Lukins led the ramblers today. It was fairly simple hike, since
we followed the road all the way, but we could not have done it at all
if Dick had not made advance preparations so that we could be admitted
to this area. It is quite closely guarded because it is the watershed
for several towns. A fire would be a major disaster.
